The scheme like Mukhya Mantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana (MKSY) would be instrumental to combat social injustice towards women if implemented properly. The central government also launched the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme with a similar objective. So, in such cases, the convergence of the similar type of schemes should be given proper administrative attention. The scheme’s implementation was hit the COVID 19 pandemic, however, the growth of the scheme in the post-pandemic phase has not been so intense. It is to be noted that there was only 9000 application before the pandemic situation. It is quite obvious that numerous applications were rejected too due to the errors in Kanya Sumangala Yojana online registration form. Hence, the figure is far away from the objective of its inclusive coverage. Uttar Pradesh government should initiate focused awareness campaign across the state through proper channel. The post-pandemic interaction would be challenging for the state government.
The scheme could be a straight eye-opener for the other states too. The other states also should opt for schemes like Mukhya Mantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana (MKSY). We know that ” A nation can not grow unless the women are empowered“. But the practical implementation of the thought is way too poor to access. India can truly empower women only if there are proper co-ordination and strict implementation of such schemes in a maximum number of states together.
