Government Schemes in May 2022

·       Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM-WANI) project was launched at Uyyalawada village in Kurnool district.

·       As per the National Digital Communication Plan, the Central government has set a target of setting up millions of Wi-Fi hotspots by 2022 and the PM-WANI scheme will facilitate this.

Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep S Puri launched the BHARAT TAP initiative at the ‘Plumbex India’ exhibition.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued instructions to all CBSE affiliated schools regarding the formation of Yuva Tourism Clubs.

·       The Ministry of Tourism has initiated ‘YUVA Tourism Clubs’ as part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.

Qualcomm India has teamed up with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s C-DAC to assist Indian chipset startups.
Chhattisgarh launched ‘Mukhyamantri Mitaan Yojana’ to provide public services at the doorstep.
Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker: Rajasthan became the first state to reach 10 GW of cumulative large-scale solar installations.

·       According to NAS-2021, at least 48 per cent of students across the country walk to school

·       9% of them use school transportation.

Delhi Customs launches Project ‘NIGAH’ at ICD Garhi Harsaru, Gurugram.

·       Project NIGAH is an initiative to track containers by using ICTM (Inland Container Depots Container Tracking Module) which will help in better visibility of the container movement inside the ICD.
