• India performed very poorly and ranked 94 among 107 countries in the Global Hunger Index 2020.
  • It is an Annual Report which is jointly published by Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe.
  • The score of the index is based on four parameters. These are Undernourishment, Child Wasting, Child Stunting, Child Mortality.
  • India’s score was 27.2, the level of hunger status in India was categorized as “serious”.
  • The concern is India is ranked behind Nepal (73), Pakistan (88), Bangladesh (75), Indonesia (70), etc.
